The data centre which runs all of the servers has a very low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) at just 1.12.
PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) is a metric used to assess a data center’s energy efficiency. In other words, PUE assesses the power effectiveness of the information centre by calculating the ratio of total energy consumed versus energy consumed solely by IT equipment.
PUE varies according to the data centre, its design, and occupancy rate, as well as other factors such as outside temperature.
With all of the heat emitted by a data centre, it is easy to see that the PUE usage is largely due to the effort consumed on cooling the server rooms. To a lesser extent, the figure also includes energy supply, lighting, supervision, and security.
